Honor 30 and Play 4T collecting March 2021 security update

Just like Huawei EMUI 11, Magic UI 4 is the latest Android-based OS skin for Honor devices. At the moment, Magic UI 4 major update is expanding worldwide and trying to cover all Honor compatible devices soon as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Honor doesn’t forget to deliver the regular software, feature, and security update for its existing devices for better performance and provide a new user experience.

Now, Honor is sending a new software update for Honor 30 and Play 4T smartphones, which installs the security patch released in March 2021. It helps the device to fight against different exploits and issues and chances system security.

To be mentioned, Honor 30 was one of the devices that have been part of Magic UI 4 first batch beta testing. After testing three betas build, this phone was upgraded over stable Magic UI 4.

Magic UI 4 features improved multi-window, smoother animations, subtle effect, super notepad, MeeTime. Ai subtitle and much more.

Before you upgrade:

  1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
  2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
  3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

New version:

  • Honor 30 users grabbing Magic UI 4 version 4.0.0.168 upgrading from 4.0.0.166
  • Honor Play 4T users grabbing Magic UI 3.1.0.151 upgrading from 3.1.0.150

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in March 2021.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

CHECK FOR UPDATE:

VIA SETTINGS:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on System & updates
  3. Tap Software update
  4. Tap Check for Updates
  5. Download and Install
  6. Install and restart your device

ALTERNATIVELY, VIA SUPPORT:

  1. Open the Support app
  2. Go to the Services tab
  3. Tap on Update
  4. Download and Install
  5. Install and restart your phone
