October 2020 security update released for Honor Play 9A users

Honor Play 9A users getting a new software update that installs the security patch released in October 2020, which improves system security. Initially, Honor Play 9A launched with Magic UI 3.0 and now running on Magic UI 3.1.

Honor Play 9A users grabbing Magic UI 3.1 version 3.1.0.177 updated from 3.1.0.176

October 2020 Security Patch Details:

October 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 21 high levels and 1 medium level of CVEs.

On the other hand, Honor has started the Magic UI 4 beta testing program for its flagship devices and kicked off their respective first, second, third Magic UI 4  beta version and soon release the stable Magic UI 4 version. Read more

2. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
