Stable HarmonyOS 4.2 starts rolling for 21 Huawei devices including Mate 60 series

Huawei has announced that the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 update is coming for the 21 devices including the Mate 60 series and the newly launched Pocket 2 foldable. The update has started rolling out and will gradually approach the first slot devices.

The Chinese tech giant confirmed the stable HarmonyOS 4.2 rollout for the 21 Huawei devices of the first batch via the official HarmonyOS page on Weibo. The company has also shared software update distribution details for other devices.

Starting with the top-end models, Huawei has said that devices like the Mate 60 series, Pocket 2 foldable, MatePad Pro 13.2 tablets, a few smart TVs, and wearables will start receiving the official version today with new features and improvements.

The company further said that the rest of the devices such as the Nova 12 series, P60 models, Mate 50, and others will start receiving the newest version from mid-May.

Huawei has recently released the 4.2.0.120 software update for the Mate 60 series and the Mate X5 foldable. Although the firmware is currently available to a handful of users and will reach other users with 135/208 build in the coming days.

How to Update?

Till then, you can keep your eyes on the update section of your device to grab the latest HarmonyOS 4.2 version at the earliest via the manual installation process.

Just open the Settings app > System & Updates > Software Updates. Tap on Check for Updates and let the device search for new builds. To the available version, hit the Download and Install tab.
