Huawei invests over 1 billion USD in automobile investment this year

At the 2021 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, Huawei Smart Car Solution BG Chief- Wang Jun gave a keynote speech. He addresses the company’s current position in the automotive industry and future strategy. It’s the time when existing technologies are reaching peaks, we could see new trends in the near future.

With the experience of 30 years, Huawei reserves handy ICT technology to integrate into an intelligent vehicle. However, the company doesn’t have any direct plan to enter the car market. Besides, Wan Jun further describes that the Chinese tech firms’ smart car product mainly depends on two factors.

The first is the Huawei inside mode, which is referred to as the corporation with smart car OEMs. At present, Changan, BAIC, and GAC have been cooperating with the company for establishing their subsidiaries.

Making further moves in the smart car industry, Huawei has invested over US$1 billion (approx. 6.4 billion yuan) in the smart car field. The company continually researching innovative technologies and developing new auto parts for carmakers.

Moving ahead, it has registers about 5,000 people in the research and development in its 10 R&D centers. China, Japan, and Europe are the three main bases of the company, where it has established its research centers.

Furthermore, the company launched over 30 smart car components that are well recognized in the market. Adding to this, it consistently increasing its business relations, signing new agreements to provides its employees more opportunities for exploring new technologies.

For instance, Huawei’s AI-supported 800v fast charging technology is a bit popular in the market. It fills the battery with a 30% faster speed and only takes 15 minutes to charge 80% of the car battery. However, it is just the start of a new journey, there is more surprise are waiting ahead, we just have to give some time to the company for polishing its technology.
