New system and security update rolling out for Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS Porsche Design

For a long time, Huawei is testing its devices for the latest custom OS, EMUI 11. To date, the company has delivered this major update for almost all eligible in home ground. However, global variants are still in the early stage of the rollout.

Huawei Mate 30 lineup model was also compatible to get EMUI 11 major update. So, last November, after completing the beta activity, the company has delivered the stable EMUI 11 build for this series of smartphones.

Talking about the Mate 30 global variants, Huawei is still working hard to cover the eligible EMUI 11 phones and delivering stable versions as soon as possible. But, the stable rollout for Mate 30 models had completed and users started enjoying the new interface and features.

For further improvements, these smartphones have started getting a new firmware update, which installs the security patch released in February 2021 and brings optimizes for system qualitativeness.

Version: Users can identify this latest update with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.175 upgraded from 11.0.0.170 with a package size of 1.23 GB.

System: Optimizes the system qualitativeness of some scenes

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in February 2021 for improved system security.

February 2021 Security Patch Details: This February 2021 security patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei smartphones including 2 critical, 26 high, and 77 medium levels of CVEs.

HOW TO INSTALL UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

HarmonyOS:

Last December, Huawei released the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta version and simultaneously started the beta recruitment for the previous smartphone flagship including Mate 30 series.

Following the beta process, Huawei pushed the first beta OTA for the developers who participated in the HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile beta activity. However, this update doesn’t have a changelog and only has a one-line greeting for the developers.
