January 2021 security improvements rolling out for Huawei Nova 7i users

As we know, Huawei launched the Nova 7i smartphone in different markets with different names. The company released this device as Nova 6 SE on home ground and named P40 Lite in Europe as well as Nova 7i for the Asia Pacific.

Now, Huawei is sending a new security update for the Nova 7i, which comes with a security patch released in January 2021. The patch improves the system security by fixing 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVE’s.

Aside from this, January 2021 security improvement already rolled out for Nova 6 SE that helps the smartphone to fight against the threats and enhance the system security. Read more

Recently, the company has released a December 2020 security update for Huawei P40 Lite users. This update fixes the different level of exploits and issues that improves system security and overall device performance.

On the other hand, all the above-mentioned smartphones are eligible to get EMUI 11 software upgrades. But, at the moment there is no official information is available related EMUI 11 rollout.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

Remember:

  1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  2. The update will not erase any data.
