Huawei Watch GT 2 and the latest Watch GT 2e are one of the best smartwatch available for the consumers. These two devices come with a number of new technologies and features and this year, Huawei may add another big improvement to its smartwatches.

Duan Mengran, Director of Huawei’s Smart Watch Division and All Scenario Solution, told Wearable that the company will bring Celia, a smart voice assistant to its smartwatch in a few months.

“In a few months we are going to bring Celia, our smart assistant to the smartwatch,” said Mengran.

With the launch of the EMUI 10.1 and Huawei P40 series, Huawei brought its AI voice assistant – Celia, in the global market. This feature is currently expanding to devices with EMUI 10.1 upgrade.

Hey Celia

Celia supports a wide range of features to help users get things done. The deep integration grants Celia access to the device’s hardware and AI.

Aside from the statement, Mengran has not revealed any specific details regarding the expansion of this feature for older devices. Meanwhile, we cannot deny a possibility of rollout of such features to the current – Huawei Watch GT 2 and GT 2e.

If Huawei decides to rollout such a feature for these wearable devices then it’ll come with a firmware update.

At Huawei Developer Conference 2020, the Chinese tech giant will introduce a new version of HarmonyOS AKA Hongmeng OS. The new version, according to the development roadmap, will now support platforms – PCs, SmartWatches, and Bands.

Also, Huawei will be gearing up for a new smartwatch alongside Huawei Mate 40 series somewhere in Q4. This watch is likely to come pre-installed with new HarmonyOS but we’ll have to wait for a confirmation.
