Huawei ‘Watch D’ to be the upcoming Blood Pressure feature smartwatch

Huawei is moving solidly in the field of smartwatches, the company has recently started the public beta testing of the Huawei Watch with Blood Pressure measurement feature. The latest development in this story reveals that the company is also planning to launch this smartwatch in the global market just like the Watch 3 series.

According to the information coming from Letsgodigital, Huawei has filed a new trademark patent at European Union Intellectual Property Organization (EUIPO) on September 10, 2021. Interestingly, the patent is related to a smartwatch name – “Watch D”.

That’s not it, because the Huawei Watch D patent description listed the following categories -‘ smartwatches; wristwatches; apparatus for use in medical analysis; heart rate monitoring; body-fat monitors; blood pressure monitors’.

Currently, it’s not clear, whether it’s a smartwatch but these type of consumer products goes under the same categories and the word “Watch” is sound pretty familiar to us. Therefore, it has the potential of the upcoming Huawei Watch D. Furthermore, this is also an indication the watch will also unveil for overseas consumers.

Huawei Watch with Blood Pressure Feature:

Earlier this month, Huawei has begun to recruit for a watch blood pressure feature test. According to the information, the test requires a wrist circumference over 200mm a total of 20 people who can participate in this test event. The test shows Huawei is working continuously on this wearable and want to bring it to the consumer as soon as possible.

Previously, He Gang, President of Handset Business, Huawei Consumer Business Group announced that the first Huawei smartwatch with Blood Pressure measurement capabilities and features has passed the medical device registration test.

The next step for Huawei is to conduct Clinical trials with professional institutes to get better insights into how accurate this smart wearable will going to work on users’ wrists. The watch could launch in the second half of 2021.

China’s Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration issued the “Publicity of the Results of the Priority Approval Application for the Second Class of Medical Devices (Issue 49)”.

Huawei Device Co., Ltd. wrist ECG blood pressure recorder, ECG analysis system, arrhythmia analysis system, wrist single-lead ECG collector, and other four medical device products entered the priority approval process. However, the details of these medical devices are still unknown.
