Huawei P40 Lite 5G smartphone starts getting April 2021 security improvements

Huawei P40 Lite 5G is also one of the popular smartphones because of its offerings and launched in different regions with different names. At the moment, this device is working with EMUI 10.1 and capable to run on the above versions.

A few weeks ago, Huawei concluded the EMUI 11 major update worldwide, but not upgrade P40 Lite and similar models. But, here is the information for Huawei P40 Lite 5G users regarding HarmonyOS 2.0 update.

As recently, the Chinese tech giant has debuted the brand new operating system for mobile phones, HarmonyOS 2.0 with cross-device capabilities, and also confirmed the 100 devices for HarmonyOS in 2021-22.

According to the HarmonyOS upgrade roadmap, the Huawei Nova 6 SE smartphone will get a stable HarmonyOS version in the third quarter of 2021, which was launched globally as Huawei P40 Lite.

Furthermore, it shows that Huawei P40 Lite and P40 Lite 5G will also get hands-on HarmonyOS 2.0 in the coming months but the official confirmation is still awaited.

In the meantime, Huawei has started sending a new software update for Huawei P40 Lite 5G smartphone that installs the security patch released in April 2021 that protects the device against threats.

After upgrading to this version, the system security will be improved that it fixes several new bugs and vulnerabilities found in the last software build.

New EMUI Version:

Huawei P40 Lite 5G users can upgrade their smartphones on EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.242 (C432E2R4P1) with an update package size of 222MB.

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in April 2021.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
