Huawei P40 lite 5G (EMUI 10.1) getting November 2020 security update

Earlier, Huawei has already entered into the global market to test the EMUI 11 beta for its devices. Aside from China, the company has recruited the Huawei P40 series smartphone in Russia, UK, Europe, Germany and Turkey,

Last week, Huawei has released the stable EMUI 11 version for Huawei P40 series global users and started enrolling the previous gen-flagship series for EMUI 11 beta testing.

Meanwhile, Huawei P40 Lite and P40 Lite 5G smartphones are eligible for EMUI 11 beta. Still, there is no confirmation from the company either these devices will get EMUI 11 or not.

In the meantime, Huawei has released a new software update for Huawei P40 Lite 5G users, which brings the security patch released in Novemeber 2020 to enhance the security of device.

What’s new in this update:

Version: Huawei P40 Lite 5G users getting EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.208 with an update weight of 198 MB.

Security: Installs the security patch released in November 2020, which fixes 3 critical and 15 high level of CVE’s for system security improvements.

Note: Currently, this update is rolling out in Europe.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATE:

  1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  2. The update will not erase any data.
