Huawei P Smart S receiving December 2021 EMUI security update

Huawei is rolling out the latest December 2021 EMUI security update for Huawei P Smart S smartphone users. The new information reveals that this update comes with EMUI version 10.1.0.206 with a software package size of 172MB.

The triple camera system equipped Huawei P Smart S smartphone’s December 2021 security update brings fixes for 2 critical, 15 high, and 38 medium CVEs found in the system. In addition to this, it also resolves the 29 CVEs in third-party libraries.

So, Huawei P Smart S owners can upgrade over this latest EMUI 10.1 version. For your information, this update doesn’t erase your data but it is recommended you take backup and use a stable connection while updating.

EMUI 12:

Huawei has launched EMUI 12 as the next major update that comes with various new features and improvements from the user interface to user experience. Currently, EMUI 12 beta testing is open for limited devices and will expand for more models launched in the global market.

HOW TO INSTALL:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, tap on the update, then select Check for updates, and then download and install.

Launched in October 2019, the Huawei P Smart S smartphone comes with a 6.30-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F processor and packs with 4000mAh battery.

In terms of storage configuration, it offers 4GB of RAM, 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). This phone launched pre-installed with EMUI 10.1 is based on Android 10.
