Huawei Nova 5i Pro receiving August 2022 Optimization update [China]
Huawei has rolled up its sleeves for distributing the August 2022 optimization update for the elder member of the smartphone family – the Nova 5i Pro. This update brings some thoughtful improvements to enhance the overall internal system of the device.
The latest information suggests that Huawei is bringing the new August 2022 update on the HarmonyOS surface. Chinese users can identify this update with software version 2.0.0.268. However, for upgrading the device to a new improvement build, you must have the baseline version as 2.0.0.233.
On the other hand, the changelog doesn’t provide any clues about the package size. Still, we suggest having at least 300MB of free space in your smartphone for storing the firmware. Besides, use a high-quality network connection for installing the update.
Speaking of the new optimizations, the August 2022 update for Huawei Nova 5i Pro handset users brings some security-related revamps. It optimizes the protection functionalities of the security system and makes it tougher against minor bugs and issues.

OpenAtom Foundation has recently announced the 2022 OpenHarmony Annual Operation Report. It reveals the that opens source HarmonyOS has achieved around 100 million lines of code.
According to the information, OpenHarmony has made new contracts with a total of 51 companies. While over 5100 co-builders submitted codes to be merged by Open Source HarmonyOS.
This marks a total of nearly 100 million lines of code built for the open-source HarmonyOS. Last year, 45 manufacturers launched 100+ open-source HarmonyOS products.
As of December 2022, the number of OpenHarmony project groups increased to 29. It includes over 50 top technical coders and 10+ university clubs.
Huawei:
Last month, Yu Chengdong, Executive Director and CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said that he is expecting big progress in the OpenHarmony open-source software.
Yu then revealed that OpenHarmony has become the fastest-growing operating system. There are currently more than 110 commercial devices and more than 100 models running this software.
OpenHarmony is already applied in various fields such as education, finance, transportation, and mining, and has built an information infrastructure base for thousands of industries.
Following HarmonyOS operating system launch in 2019, Huawei announced to open-source its OS. At HDC 2020, Huawei launched open-source HarmonyOS as OpenHarmony and donated the entire code to OpenAtom Foundation.
OpenAtom Foundation is the first foundation for open-source software in China. It was established in June 2020 and initiated jointly by many of the big tech giants.
