Huawei Mate 30 Pro starts receiving August 2022 EMUI update

Three years old yet one of the famous handset models of Huawei – the Mate 30 Pro has finally started receiving the latest August 2022 security update. This new firmware is arriving on the EMUI 12 surface with a bunch of security improvements for the devices.

Currently, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro August 2022 update is rolling out in the Middle East region. However, as usual, the company will not take much time to spread the respective update widely across the globe.

Speaking of the software info, the August 2022 EMUI update comes along with a 12.0.0.266 build. Besides, it bears an average software package with a size of 357MB. Thus, users must have ample space to install and store the new firmware on their handsets.

How to upgrade? Well, without waiting for the OTA method, you can jump into the Settings menu. Thereafter, swipe down and select System & Updates, followed by Software Updates. Tap on the Check for Updates, and wait for the device to hunt for the new firmware. To the available one, click on the Download & Install button.

What’s new in the August 2022 Update?

Although the update does not accompany any noticeable changes for the Mate 30 Pro phones. But, it carries the freshly released August 2022 EMUI security patch that provides some stability improvements to the security system.

Alongside, it fixes some minor issues related to the AOD lock screen module, permission control bugs for the network module, and enhances the System UI module. On the other hand, it optimizes the functioning of the My Huawei app to some extent, making it more effective for users.

Why August 2022 security patch delayed?

Huawei keeps on bringing improvement patches for its devices. Though, in the past few days, we have seen a slow down in this process. Yet, the reason for this deceleration is the constant development progress of the new member in the Mate family – the Mate 50 series.

The Chinese manufacturer is hastily busy in the hustle and bustle of the Mate 50 devices. No doubt, the company is trying to make some best implements on the flagship models to stand them at the first rank in the market. In doing so, it lags a little in the update sending process.
