Huawei ecosystem car brand, AITO has posted a new landmark progress in its research and development with an increased investment of 12 billion yuan ($1.7 billion) in the R&D department.

AITO’s parent company SERES recently shared its first ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) report. The report shows that the group has invested more than 12 billion yuan in the core research and development of AITO. Meanwhile, the carmaker has accumulated 3473 patent authorizations.

Last year, SERES invested 3.106 billion yuan in R&D. This figure contributed to the core R&D investment of AITO exceeding 12 billion yuan. The figure reveals that the company has 3000+ core technology patents and over 300 invention patents.

Jumping the R&D investment to $1.7 billion is a big step for the car maker and it will ensure the future growth and product competitiveness of AITO in the industry.
