Global users of Huawei P40 series receiving April security, while wait for HarmonyOS begins

As of now, the latest models are from P-series is Huawei P40, which was launched last year and Huawei is almost ready to reveal the successor, Huawei P50. This upcoming flagship will come with new camera technologies and a powerful processor.

Additionally, the Huawei P40 series is also a part of the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing program from its initial stage. To date, it has received a number of new HarmonyOS 2.0 dev beta test builds.

On the other hand, Huawei is parallelly releasing software updates for its devices. In this line, the company has started sending a new firmware version for the Huawei P40 series global variant.

According to the changelog, this update brings security improvements released in April 2021 that fix several new bugs and vulnerabilities found in the last software build and provide better system security.

Still, Huawei is yet to unveil any plan for the global release of HarmonyOS but it’s time that the company shows us more activeness that users want to see.

To be mentioned, the Chinese tech giant has recently kicked off the April 2021 security along with a bunch of new features including new quick download icons for popular apps, optimizations for Bluetooth, and fixes the problem of multi-screen collaboration in China.

However, these updates are nowhere to be seen in this update for the moment.

Huawei P40 Pro users start receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.183 (C636E3R5P4) with an updated package size of 304MB in Asia Pacific regions.

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in April 2021.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.
