May 2021 security update released for Honor 9X and 9X Pro smartphone

Tomorrow, Huawei is going to host the HarmonyOS and Product Launch Conference in China and globally, which can be attained through live streaming on different online platforms.

Finally, the day is coming, when Huawei opens HarmonyOS doors for general Huawei and Honor smartphones (launched before separation), of which, users are eagerly waiting.

On the other hand, in April, the Honor 9X device was caught secretly running on HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile dev beta version, which was quite shocking at that time. With this, it was confirmed that Honor 9X will soon upgrade over HarmonyOS.

In the meantime, Huawei has dispatched the latest software update for Honor 9X and 9X Pro device owners. This update prioritizes the installation of the security patch released in May 2021.

To be mentioned, the Honor 9X series has become the first device to get the May 2021 security patch that protects the device against threat and improve system security. Check the EMUI version and changelog below.

Honor 9X smartphone users can upgrade their devices on EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.132 upgraded from 10.1.0.130.

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in May 2021.

May 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including  3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE for improved system security.

Update steps:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

VIA SETTINGS:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.
