Old Flagship, New OS: Huawei P20 and Mate 10 getting HarmonyOS Control Panel features

Huawei P20, Mate 10 series along with Mate RS Porsche Design phones have begun receiving a new HarmonyOS 2 software update in China. This update adds new HarmonyOS Control Panel features and improvements for system security.

The new HarmonyOS update for Mate 10, P20, and Mate RS Porsche Design can be identified with the HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.165. In order to download this update, the users of the following devices need to be updated with the latest version which is HarmonyOS 2.0.0.138.

To be mentioned, the new firmware is currently rolling out in batches and may take time to fully expand to all the eligible devices in China. Below are all the adapting models.

Mate 20 HarmonyOS update

What’s New:

The new Huawei P20 and Mate 10 HarmonyOS update brings for the aforementioned devices. Based on the user’s feedback over the control panel and notification center convenience. The company has made a new change to the UI to make it more interactive.

HarmonyOS 2 Control Panel

The users can now easily switch between the notifications and the control panel with the help of a left or right swipe on the top part. Furthermore, there are some performance enhancements for a better users experience.

In addition, Huawei P20 and Mate 10 device users getting new security patches, which further improves the overall system security to protect the device from any kind of external threats.

To be mentioned, this software update will arrive via OTA for the users running the latest HarmonyOS version in China. On the other hand, the confirmation about the HarmonyOS 2 rollout for the global P20 and Mate 10 is yet to come.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the company’s one of the oldest flagship smartphones with a bunch of premium offerings. This device has a slight change over the standard variant – Mate 10, which has the fingerprint scanner on the front, whereas the pro model equips it on the back.
