Huawei MatePad 10.4 (EMUI 10.1) grabs July 2021 security update

In the midst of HarmonyOS 2.0 rollout, Huawei is also taking care of those devices running EMUI software. As such, the MatePad 10.4 tablet is now grabbing the July 2021 update.

Identified with EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.216 (C432E4R1P3), the new firmware update integrates July 2021 patch for improved system security and brings stability to the device for proper functioning.

As usual, this update is rolling in a staged manner and may take time to cover all the devices. It has a package size of 186MB. Apart from the security improvements, there isn’t anything else that the July 2021 update brings for MatePad tablet users.

Huawei’s July 2021 security patch comes with fixes for a number of exploits and issues including 21 high and 28 medium levels of CVEs, which helps to defend your device against any external threats.

Things to remember:

• Before updating, make sure your phone is not root.
• It is rolling out in batches and may take time to reach your device.
• Maintain enough battery and storage before installing.
• Do take a backup of your important data, just in case

Huawei tested 203 mobile apps on AppGallery and 44 of which were found misleading

Huawei recently showcased Device Cloud Service security and privacy report of Huawei apps test on AppGallery. The company conducted a security audit to find out the accuracy of certain applications for a part-time job, especially for students.

After the results came out, it was found that among the 203 tested applications, the 44 apps were reported to be faking orders on the platform. Read the full report here.

• If arrived, click Download and install

Download via Support app

• Open Support app
• Service tab
• Then select Update
• Click on Check for Updates
• If arrived, then tap Download and install
