New update for Huawei Nova 5 brings new features and applications to system

Huawei has begun sending a new software update for Nova 5 smartphone. This update mainly added new features to the system but doesn’t bring any security patch for further security improvements.

According to the changelog, this update added a new smart information setting, Education Center, and Link Now desktop application to the system.

As recently, this same update was already rollout for the rest Nova 5 series model, Nova 5i Pro, and 5z with a new changelog that improves the user’s experience.

EMUI version details: Huawei Nova 5 segment devices getting EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.99 upgraded from 10.1.0.98.

EMUI 11 status:

As of now, Huawei has delivered the EMUI 11 for almost all eligible devices. The Nova 5 is also one of the compatible devices but the current status is still unconfirmed. the company has not made any announcement related to this matter yet.

Changelog:

  • Added smart information setting item, after it is turned on, it can intelligently identify the content of text messages and provide you with more convenient services.
  • Added Education Center and Link Now application desktops for the smart recommendation of popular and selected apps.

Remember:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
    EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

You can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
