March 2021 security improvements released for Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone

Huawei is almost done with its latest custom OS, EMUI 11 update roll out across the globe. Now, the company’s main focus is shifting towards the HarmonyOS official launch for smartphones.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro is one of the models from Huawei’s previous-gen flagship, which was also a part of EMUI 11 beta testing earlier. After months of beta activity, these device’s beta test as well as EMUI 10.1 users across the world upgraded over the EMUI 11 in December 2020.

EMUI 11 offers new changes for user interface, latest features including artistic AOD, smoother animation, subtle effect, rhythmic ringtones, system translation, and more.

For further improvements, Huawei is pushing a new software update for Mate 30 Pro device. This update mainly installs the security patch released in March 2021, which protects the phone against threats.

Note:

  • Currently, this update is rolling in rolling Indonesia.
  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
    EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

New EMUI version:

  • Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone users found this update with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.180 with a package size of 269MB.

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in March 2021.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

CHECK FOR UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

HarmonyOS:

After the launch of HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta, Huawei started the recruitment of selected device including Mate 3o lineup. To date, three betas were released and the public beta testing will schedule to start in April 2021. Read more
