Huawei upgraded phones with Huawei Assistant, Browser, Petal Search to reduce reliance on Google Apps

A few months ago, we reported that Huawei will update its devices with new smart apps such as Huawei Assistant, Huawei Browser, and Smart Charge. Devices launched with HMS also received an all in an application, Petal Search to find third party apps APKs, searching the web, and getting the latest news and updates on the go.

Huawei took these measures to install and increase the use of its own apps in smartphones including old and new ones. This is also a step to reduce reliance on Google Mobile Applications such as Chrome and Google Assistant.

As we’ve noted, Huawei is rolling out new features and customization options on these apps to improve their user experience and make them competitive in the current application ecosystem.

The number of Map apps is also increasing on the AppGallery and the Huawei Video app is also extending its work with more partners around the globe. However, Huawei will need to coordinate with local video services in different markets.

The rollout of these smart features has already reached many Huawei and Honor devices and now a number of older devices are still under receiving these apps via software updates.

Check details of these apps and device list below.

Huawei Assistant: Provides smart reminders, personalized news, and other content relevant to you. The assistant is accessible via the home screen.

Huawei Browser: Huawei Browser app provides you with a secure, convenient web browser and searching services.

Huawei Smart Charge: Preserve battery health by adapting to your charging routine. Charging may be paused to delay charging your device to 100% until needed.

Petal Search: Petal Search widget that offers an alternative app search for users to conveniently access and to download a wider variety of apps.
