Older Huawei and Honor Phones will get updated with Huawei Assistant, Browser and Smart Charging

Following the U.S. events that occurred in May last year, Huawei has taken some measures to ensure its smartphone services remain stable. While one of the major changes in its new reform includes the Huawei Assistant app.

The app allows users to get daily news feeds and customized content similar to the Google app. Although, the Huawei Assistant available to download from AppGallery and official website but the company has now planned to install this feature with an OTA update to both Huawei and Honor phones running EMUI 9.1 and above.

Huawei wants to expand the usage of its own mobile apps in its older smartphones that are GMS enabled. So the new Software Updates will also include the Huawei Browser app as well as the new Smart Charging mode feature that reduces battery aging problems with the help of AI.

Currently, we don’t have inputs on the exact list of eligible devices but these will be for devices on both EMUI 9.1 and EMUI 10.0 operating system. While the rollout of this OTA likely to start in May this year for eligible Huawei and Honor devices.

A look at Huawei Assistant, Huawei Browser app, and Smart Charging:

Huawei Assistant:

Huawei Assistant provides smart reminders, personalized news, and other content relevant to you. The assistant is accessible via the home screen.

Just swipe right on the home screen to access Huawei Assistant (or left if you are using a bi-directional language). Huawei Assistant can’t be accessed directly from AppGallery.

Browser:

Huawei Browser app provides you with a secure, convenient web browser and searching services.

Smart Charging:

The Smart Charge mode reduces battery aging by adapting to your charging routine through AI learning. Preventing the battery from being continuously charged when full.
