Huawei is planning to launch a new tablet manufactured by an ODM. The tablet has WiFi and 4G variants and likely to use a low-end chipset from either MediaTek or Kirin 710 series and will be priced under 1000 yuan, says a Weibo tipster -Digital Chat Station.

An original design manufacturer (ODM) is a company which designs and manufactures a product which is specified and eventually branded by another firm for sale.

This is not the first time, when the Chinese tech giant has decided to stay away from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and it’s good to go with ODM to launch a low-end product and also to save the time and efforts for OEM products.
