Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro receiving first update with camera, fingerprint and security improvements

Huawei released its latest mid-range flagship series, Huawei Nova 8 on December 23, 2020, in China. This series launched in two models including Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro.

The Nova 8 and 8 Pro models come with a 6.5/6.7 inch OLED display with FHD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution, 90-120Hz screen refresh rate, 240-300Hz touch sampling rate Kirin 985 7nm processor, EMUI 11, 64MP quad rear camera, a good battery, and more.

After the launch, Huawei has started releasing the first software update for Nova 8 series smartphones for further improvements. This latest update offers optimization for the camera, fingerprint unlocking, and system stability as well as installs the December 2020 security patch for improves system security.

  • Huawei Nova 8 Pro users getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.118 upgraded from 11.0.0.115

POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATE:

  1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  2. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
