February 11, 2021:

In December 2019, Huawei launched the Nova 6 series with EMUI 10 based on Android 10 in China. This series consists of Nova 6, Nova 6 5G, and Nova 6 SE smartphones.

Following the launch, Huawei released the Nova 6 SE device in more regions with different names. This smartphone was revealed as P40 Lite in European countries and with Nova 7i in the Asian market.

The Nova 6 SE/P40 Lite/Nova 7i device features a 6.4-inch display with 1080 x 2310p resolution, HiSilicon Kirin 810 processor, 48MP main camera, 16MP selfie camera, 8GB+128GB storage, and more.

Talking about major upgrades, all the above-mentioned models have received EMUI 10.1 update after the launch. Moving ahead, the company enrolled the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G in the second batch of the EMUI 11 beta testing program.

After months of EMUI 11 testing, Huawei kicked off the stable EMUI 11 version for Nova 6 and 6 5G. On the other hand, this is the biggest disappointment for the Nova 6 SE users because other phones of the same series got major upgrades and they are still waiting.

For a long time, these phone users eagerly waiting for an official confirmation to upgrade on EMUI 11. In the meantime, Huawei is sending security updates for further improvements.

However, there’s a new reply coming from Huawei Saudi Arabia reveals that the Nova 7i will not be able to upgrade over EMUI 11, which could be the same fate for P40 Lite and Nova 6 SE.

However, we’ll look for more confirmation on this matter and will keep you posted.
