Huawei Nova 7i getting May 2021 security update, users wants to know HarmonyOS status

Huawei began to rollout a new software update for the Huawei Nova 7i smartphone. As this latest firmware for the device brings May 2021 security patch for improved system security.

According to the information, the Nova 7i smartphone owners can upgrade their devices to EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.325 from EMUI 10.1.0.320. This update comes with an updated package size of 206MB.

For your information, the latest security upgrade for Nova 7i fixes different levels of exploits and issues that may compromise your data security.

To be mentioned, Huawei Nova 7i is the global name of the Nova 6 SE Chinese smartphone. This phone is testing HarmonyOS 2 operating system via the HM OS beta program. Furthermore, it’s the only device that has the most attention in our Q&A session.

However, the HarmonyOS 2 beta testing is limited to the Chinese market but, the company will soon expand it for global device users as well as its availability.

  • The device must have a better battery backup to install this update that is a minimum of 50%.
  • It’s compulsory to check your storage availability(Internal/External SDcard) to download the latest update as per the size required
  • A strong WiFi/mobile data connection is required for a buffer-free download of the package.

May 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including  3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
