Huawei MatePad T8 tablet getting Petal Maps and other apps with a new software update

Huawei has started rolling out the May 2021 security patches but some devices are lagging behind and still getting April 2021 security improvements including a tablet named Huawei MatePad T8.

According to the information, Huawei has kicked off a new software update for the Huawei MatePad T8 tablet with an upgraded EMUI 10.1 version. The update brings shortcuts to download some popular apps and prioritizes the installation of a new security patch.

April 2021 security patch details:

This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

On the other hand, recently, it was reported Huawei has started preparation to launch the MatePad 11 Chinese variant powered by HarmonyOS in the market as soon as possible.

Before you upgrade:

  1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
  2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
  3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

EMUI Version:

Huawei MatePad T8 tablet owners start receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.150 (C432E3R1P3) with an update size of 445 MB in Europe.

Changelog:

  • Apps: Added shortcuts to download Book, Petal Maps, Game Center, and Link Now app.
  • Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in April 2021.

  5. Download and Install
  6. Install and restart your device
