Huawei MatePad 10.8 starts receiving January 2021 security update

Last July, Huawei has unveiled a new tablet in the MatePad series, Huawei MatePad 10.8 powered by Kirin 990. It brings a 10.8-inch display with 2K QHD resolution, a 7500mAh battery, and more.

In terms of mobile software, the MatePad 10.8 initially launched with EMUI 10.1 as well as support multi-screen collaboration, multi-tasking, and more smart features. Moreover, this device is also eligible to install the latest custom OS, EMUI 11.

Back in September, Huawei has started recruiting the MatePad 10.8 devices for EMUI 11 beta testing. After the completion of the enrollment process, the company has delivered a beta version for registered users.

Moving on, in November 2020, the company has completed the EMUI 11 testing program for MatePad 10.8 device by delivering the stable version for the beta tester as well as users on EMUI 10.1

Now, Huawei began sending a new software update for MatePad 10.8 that brings security patch released in January 2021 for improves system security.

January 2021 Security Patch Details: Installs security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs.

HOW TO CHECK UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

REMEMBER:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

Huawei Nova 9 is getting new firmware that comes with November 2022 security patch for a better EMUI software system. However, the phone users have not received a new major software upgrade so far.

Huawei Nova 9 brings you EMUI 12 out of the box. It would be interesting to see this smartphone gearing up with EMUI 13 as soon as possible.

The November 2022 firmware update for Huawei Nova 9 is rolling out with EMUI version 12.0.1.263. On the other hand, the package size is 358MB, which may vary in different markets.

Huawei is rolling out a new update for the MatePad Paper global users that brings unique changes to the Notes application. While the update also holds useful optimizations for the device alongside.

The latest Huawei MatePad Paper update is quite interesting as it includes a new Notes app version. Eventually, this new app build will enhance the overall user experience. Besides, it provides a variety of new functions.
