A new input suggests the Huawei Mate 60 Pro will tune in software to bring dynamic island features and compete against iPhone 15 Pro. The latest information follows a report of the phone featuring center placed pill shape cutout.

Blogger Wangzhaiknows has revealed that Huawei has optimized the phone’s software to support dynamic island-like features. The blogger also confirmed that the Mate 60 lineup equips new animations in HarmonyOS 4.0.

The tipster also referenced his past leak on this matter. However, it was shared during the release of the Huawei P60 series and it later launched with a center hold punch notch. However, the tipster didn’t mention the feature to come with the Huawei P60 series or any device.

Yet, it seems like Huawei has done quite a research in order to finally put its own dynamic island in production. A leaked screenshot potentially shows how Huawei may adopt the upcoming release.

The screenshot shows two types of dynamic island options The first option says “equal width on all sides” and the second says “extremely narrow on the left and right sides”. In comparison, iPhone 14 Pro series adopts a four-sided equal-width solution, and it is not yet certain what design the Mate 60 series will adopt.

If it’s true, then Huawei will also feature a 3D face recognition for the front inside that pill shape cutout.

To be mentioned, Huawei already developed 3D face recognition with the launch of Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Later on, Huawei Mate 30 Pro, mate 40 Pro, and Mate 50 Pro launched with subsequent improvements in face recognition technology.
