It’s reported that the Huawei Mate 60 series will come with a center pill shape cutout design. This has been previously rumored to come with the Huawei P60 series but somehow didn’t make it.

A report from Chinese media claims that Huawei will release a new flagship phone with the pill shape cutout and it will be the upcoming Huawei Mate 60 series. The pill shape is mentioned as “Similar to iPhone 15 series”.

It’s exciting news because there will be a showdown between these two smartphones later this year in China. But we don’t have an official confirmation on this matter.

The report further adds that the company will use a 3D ToF deep-sensing camera on the front. The pill composition could be similar to Huawei Mate 40 Pro but with new technologies and it’s moved to the middle of the screen. Also, there may be some cutout down in the occupied screen to make it look precise.

Compared to this, Huawei Mate 50 Pro was launched with a wide notch on the head. The design was quite interesting. Meanwhile, the rear side of the phone remains a mystery for us, and lens specifications remains unknown as well.

Past input suggests that the Huawei Mate 60 series will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. However, there are also rumors that the company will resume 5G with this launch.

Also, the Huawei Mate 60 series will be the first flagship phone to deliver the HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system out of the box.

Past:

Just to reveal, Huawei previously tested pill shape display cutouts on Huawei P60 series and Nova 11 series smartphones. However, Huawei chose to unveil them without applying the testing phase changes (in terms of display).

So, we can’t take the current news as official until we have something concrete from Huawei. However, there’s still a lot to witness because this phone is booked to unveil around October or November launch window.
