Huawei Mate 50 to bring new camera technologies with Qualcomm Snapdragon ISP

Huawei Mate 50 series is coming and its maker doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned to make this flagship better than ever. Despite many difficulties, Huawei is pushing boundaries to bring the supply chain together and form this lineup and bring it to the consumers.

According to a report, the Huawei Mate 50 series will further enhance the photo quality and enhance it. It’s also revealed that the Huawei Mate 50 series camera system will Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ series chipset and use its ISP to bring you a new photography user experience.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ISP:

As per Qualcomm, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor boasts a triple 18-bit ISP, and incorporates over 4,000x more data than the 14-bit ISP, while enabling simultaneous triple capture. You can capture the dynamic range at up to 3.2 gigapixels per second plus over a billion shades of color with 8K HDR video capture.

Currently, Huawei has not confirmed the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon ISP for the Huawei Mate 50 camera but we’re expecting this lineup to unveil in August this year and surely, if it’s using the chipset then, it won’t exclude the ISP. As it is speculated to come in three variants – Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 Pro+. Until we get confirmation on this upcoming flagship, let’s take a look at the past Huawei Mate devices along with P50 Pro.

Huawei Mate 40 series:

Huawei Mate 40 series consist of three models – Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+. The Pro models feature quad and Penta camera systems. However, the only difference between the Pro models is the different zoom ranges. The lineup has:

  • 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture)
  • 20 MP Cine Camera (Ultra-Wide Angle, f/1.8 aperture)
  • 12 MP Telephoto Camera (5X, 8X)
  • 3D Depth Sensing Camera, support AF

Huawei P50 Pro:

Aside from these, Huawei P50 Pro is the latest and last installment that Huawei has made with Leica, and its camera system includes a 50 MP True-Chroma Camera (Color, f/1.8 aperture, OIS), 40 MP True-Chroma Camera (MONO, f/1.6 aperture), 13 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture) and 64 MP Telephoto Camera (f/3.5 aperture, OIS), supports AF.
