Honor may surpass Huawei in the future, hopes Huawei founder

On November 17, Huawei has officially declared that Honor has now become a separate smartphone brand and announced the sale of all assets of Honor to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology, a consortium of over 30 agents and dealers.

Huawei sold its sub-brand, Honor because of US government restricts American companies to supply chips or components made with US technology to Huawei.

Huawei Technologies founder, Ren Zhengfei at Honor’s farewell party says, I hope budget smartphone brand Honor, which Huawei sold recently, would become its former parent company’s strongest global competitor and even surpass it in the future.

According to a transcript released on Huawei’s official employee community platform, Xinsheng Shequ, on Thursday. “We are competitors in the future.”
