Leak: Honor 30 series to equip largest camera pixel, surpassing all sensors in the market

Honor 30 series will be the next big thing from Honor, this upcoming phone series will come with various new hardware as well as next-gen camera technologies.

A leak from Slashleaks claims that the Honor 30 series will come with a custom Sony IMX sensor with the largest size of 1/1.3 inches and 1.2μm pixel size, surpassing all sensors currently on the market.

In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features a 100MP sensor with a size of 1/1.33-inch and a unit pixel size of 0.8 μm.

Why the pixel size matter?

Larger pixel absorbs more light and passes into the main camera sensor to allow it to take bright pictures.

If we look at the Honor 20 Pro, the phone launched with a 48MP main camera custom Sony IMX586 sensor with 1/2-inch size and largest aperture of f/1.4 to take amazing pictures in a low light environment.

Currently, there’s no additional information available about the Honor 30 and 30 Pro but the new camera surely sensor is a big improvement and possibly be featured in Honor 30 Pro.

Honor 30 and 30 Pro reported launching by the end of April or in the first week of May. While one of the devices – Honor 30S will launch on March 30 with Kirin 820 5G chipset.
