Honor 20S smartphone getting October 2020 security update

Honor has begun sending a new software update for Honor 20S that brings a security patch released in October 2020, which improves the system security and improves the device performance.

Honor 20S receiving Magic UI 3.1 version 10.1.0.96 updated from 10.1.0.94 and installs October 2020 security patch that fixes 21 high levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.

Aside from this, Honor is testing its devices for the latest Android-based operating system Magic UI 4. However, Honor 20S is eligible for Magic UI 4 but, the company didn’t disclose any information regarding Magic UI 4 for this device.

On the other hand, Honor has closed Magic UI 4 beta testing for the Honor 30 and V30 series by delivering the stable Magic UI 4 version.

HOW TO UPDATE HONOR 20S:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
