HarmonyOS 2 public beta officially announced for Huawei Nova 5 devices

Today, Huawei has officially confirmed that Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5i Pro, and Nova 5z smartphones users can register for HarmonyOS 2.0 public beta testing in China. However, the enrollment was already started two days ago for these devices.

After the completion of the public beta phase, the Nova series smartphone users can directly upgrade over HarmonyOS 2.0 system under the beta program. Currently, this HarmonyOS beta testing activity is to the limited Chinese market.

Adapting devices with required EMUI and HarmonyOS 2.0 version :

  • Huawei Nova 5: EMUI 10.1.0.103 to HarmonyOS 2.0.0.135
  • Huawei Nova 5i Pro: EMUI 10.1.0.103 to HarmonyOS 2.0.0.135
  • Huawei Nova 5z: EMUI 10.1.0.103 to HarmonyOS 2.0.0.135

To join the HarmonyOS 2.0 public beta, follow the below steps:

  • Open My Huawei app
  • Go to Home
  • Open Upgrade Early Adopters
  • Check Public Beta Early Adopter

Huawei’s new goal:

On June 2, Huawei has launched the HarmonyOS 2.0 brand new operating system for smartphone devices and other IoT products. Since then, this OS has started making its way towards eligible smartphones.

At the seminar, Dr. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei CBG Software Department revealed that the number of HarmonyOS users will exceed 360 million this year and announced a big aim to achieve HarmonyOS installed in 1.23 billion smart devices in 2022.

In order to achieve the goal set, Huawei has sped up the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta program and started adaption early as scheduled. Since the launch, HarmonyOS 2 surpassed 30 million installations on smart devices including smartphones and tablets.
