Recently, Huawei has launched a brand new operating system, HarmonyOS 2.0 with the slogan “One as All, All as One”. After this unveiling, YAJI Software, the official team of Cocos announced that the Cocos Creator 3.2 version, which will be officially updated at the end of this month.

The major noticeable thing is that Cocos Creator 3.2 will comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 platform option and become the world’s first game editor, to support the HarmonyOS system.

For complete game development with HarmonyOS, developers need to complete the project first in the Cocos creator and select the build for HarmonyOS. Then, import the current project into Hauwei’s HarmonyOS DevEco Studio to compile, deploy and debug.

This whole process is similar to other mobile platforms and developers are already familiar with. To be mention, just a few days ago, Cocos’ editor compiles and ran with Creator 3.1 Cyberpunk and released the night view demo.

In the demo, you can see that the Delayed Rendering module contributed by the Huawei HiSilicon team runs well on HarmonyOS, and the reflective effects of neon lights in different colors to suit water stains and mud on the ground create a complete cyberpunk light pollution environment.

Additionally, the Cocos team also presented the compilation and running effects of a half-finished demo of the daytime scene in the future city. This demo will officially schedule to arrive in July and will be upgraded with more realistic rendering performance and bringing natural and delicate visual effects.

To take or experience the demo, developers need Huawei P40 or Mate 40 Pro smartphone working with HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer beta 3 versions.
