April 2021 security patch rolling out for Huawei Nova 7 SE and Nova 5 Pro devices

Huawei’s full-fledge HarmonyOS for smartphones is about to launch and at the moment, every user’s main focus lies on this new operating system. Also, Huawei device users are eagerly waiting to experience the features offered by HarmonyOS.

Alongside the major updates, the system security and features rollout are also important for smartphones because it optimizes the overall device performance and optimizes the overall user experiences.

In this segment, Huawei is sending a new software update for two devices of the Nova family – Nova 5 Pro and Nova 7 SE 5G. This update brings the security patch released in April 2021 and protects the device against threats.

• Huawei Nova 5 Pro

The update changelog for these two Huawei phones only installs the latest security improvements that it fixes several new bugs and vulnerabilities found in the last software build.

On the other hand, Huawei plans to install HarmonyOS over 300 million devices including new, old and third-party devices this year.

• The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
• EMUI version and size may vary.
• Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

EMUI Version:

Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G smartphone getting EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.165 upgraded from 10.1.1.164. On the other hand, the Nova 5 Pro users receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.143 upgraded from 11.0.0.141.

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in April 2021.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

Update steps:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install
