On 27th June, Huawei installed the 5G distributed Massive MIMO technology at Tianfu international airport jointly with China Mobile Sichuan Chengdu Branch (Chengdu Mobile). After that, the Tianfu airport becomes countries first 5G airport with gigabit network technology.

At present, the network rate has been overtaken 1Gbps speed meanwhile the individual experience rate has recorded an average increase of 26% with the maximum rate of 1.25Gbps. More surprisingly, this peak rate has been experienced by multiple users at the same time.

Huawei’s Distributed Massive MIMO Technology:

The distributed Massive MIMO solution impressively increased the network speed to delivered a more enhanced user experience. It’s the core technology to support 5G ubiquitous Gigabit networks.

This is designed to apply to all kinds of business scenarios both indoor and outdoor and assuring high-speed network accuracy.

Chengdu Tianfu International Airport:

The Tianfu airport is the recently built airport situated in Chengdu and expands in an area of 719,600 square meters with an annual customer throughput of 40 million passengers, 700,000 tons cargo and mails, and 320,000 aircraft departures.

This 4F international airport used by thousands of travelers on daily basis, who used the 5G network for communication and entertainment during the waiting period. So, the ultra-high-speed 5G network experience to satisfied this huge demand became the first call for the passengers.

Huawei & Chengdu Mobile:

In order to provide the high-speed 5G network, Chengdu Mobile applies the Huawei indoor digital small base station, 5G distributed Massive MIMO software functions.

The distributed indoor architecture further linked with fundamental technologies to realizing a multi-user MIMO 5G capacity with an enhanced experience.

With the help of Huawei’s 5G network technology, Chengdu Mobile has successfully created an ultimate 5G gigabit network web with a high-quality network framework for the flying experience of commuters.
