Last week, Huawei expanded to HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing program for Huawei Mate 40 series, Mate X2 foldable phone, Smart Screen S, Mate 40E Pro, and more devices. These phones are now part of the HarmonyOS developer beta testing and receiving the latest HarmonyOS beta version through OTA update.

Since the beginning of the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta activity in December last year, Huawei has pushed three beta software updates for the participant Huawei devices including Huawei P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro models alongside the above-mentioned devices.

Recently, Huawei has begun to send HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile phone developer Beta test recruitment audit results (AD) through email for the users who’ve applied for the testing program.

The Email reads that the software rollout for the registered HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer beta activity will start within two or three days (for the receiving person). This could be the start of the public beta of HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta for more consumers, which directly indicates that more models could be able to participate in the HarmonyOS beta activity soon.

Developer Beta testing:

Even with the launch of the HarmonyOS closed beta testing for the general consumers, Huawei will continue to test HarmonyOS software for software through beta builds. Just like any other operating system.

Internet Beta for general smartphone testers:

General smartphone users will be able to test the beta software somewhere in the later half of May or in June.

Stable release:

According to a previous report, Huawei will start to test HarmonyOS mobile software on a large number of devices by June this year. In the meantime, the company will carry forward with a limited number of devices through the beta closed beta testing.
