Although, Huawei and Honor devices in other markets support Voice Over WiFi calling but not in India. However, recently VoWiFi has entered the Indian market. And more and more Huawei and Honor smartphone users are asking when they’ll receive the VoWiFi update?

In response to this question, Huawei and Honor India have confirmed that VoWiFi calling feature is currently under development and we could expect it rollout as an EMUI or Magic UI update but there’s no exact date when it’ll be released.

“We understand you are interested in new updates. We would like to inform you that VoWiFi calling feature is under development.” says the companies.

The Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service, also called Wi-Fi Calling, enables users to use smartphones that support VoWiFi to dial numbers to use voice or video calls when a Wi-Fi connection is available. Users can even make VoWiFi call in Airplane mode.

If you want to check if this feature is available in smartphone, follow the instructions below:

  • Go to Phone (Dialer).
  • Settings.
  • Wi-Fi Calling, then enable VoWiFi or Wi-Fi calling. After enabling, follow the onscreen instructions.
