Since VoWiFi is introduced recently in India, some of the smartphones mentioned below launched in the market that doesn’t have the WiFi Calling feature may receive it through a software update.

Original Story:

The Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service, also called Wi-Fi Calling, enables users to use smartphones that support VoWiFi to dial numbers to use voice calls when a Wi-Fi connection is available. Users can even make VoWiFi call in Airplane mode.

Benefits of VoWiFi:

  • With VoWiFi users can make calls without the need for a mobile signal (e.g. in a remote location or in a property with thick walls).
  • It provides better indoor coverage.

How to use VoWiFi to Make Calls:

Note: This feature must be supported by your carrier/mobile operator to use it. You can contact your carrier to activate

  • Go to Phone (Dialer).
  • Settings.
  • Wi-Fi Calling, then enable VoWiFi or Wi-Fi calling. After enabling, follow the onscreen instructions.

The WiFi calling feature may not be available in models of the following phones in some regions or countries.

Huawei filed auxiliary makeup patent, could launch new app

Back in March 2020, Huawei filed a patent application for auxiliary makeup that recently got the approval of the Intellectuals. Seems like, the company is preparing to explore something that isn’t its main focus.

According to the Chinese Property Patent Database, Huawei has publishes the “Auxiliary Makeup Method, Terminal Equipment, Storage Media, and Program Products” patent on 12th October in China.

This new patent with the publication number CN113496459A embodies new methods and devices that are related to auxiliary makeup. The abstract describes it as suitable for make-up communication technology to provide proper guidance.

Huawei Auxiliary Makeup Patent Description:

As per the method described in the document, it’ll obtain one facial feature and analyze them to determine makeup instructions corresponding to different faces. The procedure can be described in the below-mentioned terms.

  1. Using an HD camera, the device will scan users’ facial appearance and collected the needed data.
  2. After gathering the data, it’ll analyse the makeup effect map with the respective makeup contours of the user
  3. Now, it’ll display the applicable makeup contour guidance on the area that needs the makeup
  4. This is how a user will get the instruction that suits most to them.

The outcome will provide users with effective makeup references during the makeup process to improve their makeup skills. Moreover, using these directories a user can apply makeup that is nearly close to the shown makeup effect.

However, Huawei hasn’t disclosed the actual medium for this implementation. But the description shows that the company is preparing for a new makeup app that will either launch separately in the Huawei App Market or will come pre-installs on the smartphones.

Besides, this Chinese tech giant is the top patent inventor with the most investment in research and development in the field of  5G, 6G, automotive, smartphones, cameras, operating systems, etc. Furthermore, it holds the maximum number of patents in the field of 5G and 6G in the native market as well the overseas markets.

Huawei filled “100 000” graphic trademark application

On 27th September, Huawei applied for a new graphic trademark- “1000 000” under the international classification of 9 kinds of scientific instruments and methods. This patent has been filled with the application number 59526520 in China.

According to the application document, this trademark consists of mathematical digits, some shaps, and symbols. Besides, it’s still in the registered process so there isn’t may information available regarding its application purposes.

However, if we look at the design of the trademark, it’s designed on a cuboid house having four cubes on it. The bottom plat displays the numerical values 100 and 000 with two signs. Meanwhile, the rest four cubes show some mathematical symbols.

Seems like the company is preparing for an application related to calculative methods, or it could be new machinery. Yet, we can’t confirm anything until the application doesn’t enter the second phase or the company provides some official information.

Previous Huawei Trademark:

Last month on 23rd, Huawei filled a new Dayu trademark with application number 59411348. It’s categorized into 42 kinds of design and research classes and currently is in the registration process. Likewise the above-mentioned trademark, the company didn’t disclose any information regarding the implementation of this Dayu name. Still, we can relate it to a county in China, which is nearer to Guangdong province.

Huawei filled Dayu trademark application, purpose is unknown

Huawei has conducted back-to-back launch events and introduced numerous brand new products this year. We can count the HarmonyOS product launch, Smart Office product launch, and Nova 9 series since June that brought us the latest flagship P50 lineup, HarmonyOS product batch, smart office products, Nova 9 series, and more

Maintaining the same flow, the Shenzhen-based firm plans new products and technologies that’ll give users a taste of Huawei’s capabilities. According to the Chinese Intellectual property database, Huawei has filed a new application for the trademark name Dayu.

As the document describes, this trademark with application number 59411348 was filled on 23rd September this year. Furthermore, its international classification shows 42 kinds of design research. Thus, it’s still in the registration process at present.

Though, the use or application scenario of the Dayu trademark is currently unknown and hard to relate with Huawei. If we took help the history and data, Dayu is a county near Guandong in China. However, it doesn’t seem to have any relation with Huawei until it doesn’t plan to set up any brand there. Yet we don’t have any official word from the company.

Previous Trademark: 

This month, we have come to know about two different trademarks of Huawei. The first is about the Watch GT series that has been filled in UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) for GT3, GT5, GT8, and GT10 models after a dispute with Sony in the Europen office.

Besides, the company also filed a trademark under Europen Union Intellectual Property Office for Huawei V-Pencil. It’s expected that this new trademark cloud has been filled for its new Mate V flip smartphone’s stylus, which is reported to launch before the end of this year.
