Huawei’s most anticipated and fully independent operating system, HarmonyOS 2.0 will officially launch for the general device somewhere in June. The company is working hard on HarmonyOS in the hope to become the world’s third-largest mobile OS.

Moreover, Google’s Android is the largest mobile ecosystem followed by Apple iOS. The latest current version of iOS is iOS 14, which was launched last year with a number of new features such as Home controls, a new widget system, resizable widgets, and more.

As many times Huawei denies that HarmonyOS 2.0 is not a replacement for Android nor a copy of iOS. Adding to this, it took 5 years to complete the development of HarmonyOS.

But taking inspiration is not a bad thing, and we think, HarmonyOS is also a well-inspired operating system. For instance, Huawei recently rolled out that third HarmonyOS developer beta that unfolded some of its key features.

This includes the new widgets and App library system, which is very similar to the latest version of iOS. According to the information, the new widget system on the EMUI 11 allows users to newly redesigned widgets and use them anywhere on the home screen.

With this feature, users get timely information from their favorite app at a glance and keep their useful widgets on the home screen to always stay in touch with them.

The widget management system also provides more options like resize widgets, the stack view to save space, edit your widget, and most important is today view in which day-specific widgets can be added.

Furthermore, users can also resize the widgets into small and big sizes to put the amount of information on the screen.

Next comes the App library, as you can see in the image above, the HarmonyOS has the new App Library-like app folder collection. This feature is useful and automatically organizes all of your apps into categories.

Just recently, a speed comparison test video of HarmonyOS 2.0 and iOS 14 installed on Hauwei and iPhone respectively caught on the @Atnarr YouTube channel. The test shows that HarmonyOS performance is slightly better than ioS 14 in terms of opening, closing, the data loading speed of apps.
