According to the new information, Huawei has pushed the stable HarmonyOS 2 version 184.108.40.206 for the P30 and P30 Pro both beta testers and users currently runs their P30 devices with EMUI 11.
To be mentioned, the rollout has just begun and expand gradually on different devices. Therefore it’ll take weeks to cover all of the eligible Huawei smartphones.
The HarmonyOS 2.0 brings a fresh and attractive user interface including a new home screen, service widgets, control panel, smart folder, HarmonyOS fonts, and more.
What about global Huawei P30 users?
After HM OS 2 rollout in China, the Huawei P30 series global users have raised their hopes even further and enraged the excitement. Yet, Huawei has not made any announcement on the rollout of the HarmonyOS 2 on a global scale.
However, we remain optimistic and waits patiently for the global launch of HarmonyOS 2, so that eligible device owners can experience the HarmonyOS 2 operating system.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro beta testers grabbing HarmonyOS 2.0 version 220.127.116.11 from 18.104.22.168. On the other hand, the P30 EMUI users can upgrade their devices to HarmonyOS 22.214.171.124 version from EMUI 126.96.36.199/142.

Smart Office: Under this label, HarmonyOS brings you the capability to transfer files on cross-device platforms without requiring a data cable with the power of Huawei Share, which increases the file transfer speed and provides faster and secure file sharing between Huawei smartphones, computers, and tablets.
Seamless Performance: All operations, including touches and swipes, are smoother and more natural, with images and videos loading more quickly as well.
Task manager: Support task status saving in frequently used apps, meaning that even after you’ve switched to another app, you can pick up a previous task right from where you had left off.
App Guard: The App Guard mode is enabled by default, to ensure that all apps subject deep scans for malicious behavior, security vulnerabilities, privacy risks, and other related behaviors while being installed. This prevents risky apps from being installed while helping safeguard the secure running environment of the entire system.
Certifications: The TEE OS security kernel has obtained the CC EAL5+ certification, indicating the highest security level for a global commercial operating system kernel. The HarmonyOS operating system has obtained CC EAL4+ security certification, China’s highest security certification.
Collaborative Security: Add a mobile – Computer collaborative authentication feature and allows you to unlock your phone by entering the phone’s screen unlock password on your Huawei computer when your phone and computer are connected via multi-screen collaboration.
25 Huawei devices are receiving stable HarmonyOS update
Following months of trials, 25 Huawei devices are receiving stable HarmonyOS 2.0 updates. These 25 devices aren’t just smartphones but also includes a smart screen (smart TVs) as well as models from both Huawei and Honor brand. The below-listed devices are now eligible to upgrade over the HarmonyOS and enjoy its latest features.
To be noted, these phones have been running the EMUI software system before upgrading over the HarmonyOS. This new OS installs various new features and user interface that provides a seamless user experience for the consumers. Also, both EMUI and existing HarmonyOS testers can now install this major upgrade.

This software rollout is currently limited to Chinese consumers and is now available to download via both My Huawei and the software update section. However, it’s now available for global consumers. Below you can check more information about the rollout.
Update Changelog: Beta testers
- Call: Fix the problem of the screen delay in the incoming call scene

The update is rolling out in batches so users who didn’t get this update yet can wait for a few days. Furthermore, this firmware can be download through system settings and the My Huawei App. Open the Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.
Things to Rember:
- Install the update as soon it reaches your device.
- Don’t disturb the update installation process and use a strong WiFi or personal internet network.
- Don’t forget to restart your device once the installation process is complete.
- The user data will be safe during the update process but an advance backup is recommended.

On June 2, Huawei announced the brand new mobile operating system for smartphone devices that comes with a new user interface and features that enhance the user experience for the consumer. At the event, Huawei unveiled a roadmap to send HarmonyOS 2.0 on mobile devices and includes over 100 Huawei models consisting of both phones and tablets.
The company so far has started HarmonyOS 2.0 for almost all of the listed eligible Huawei phones and moving rapidly to conclude the HarmonyOS 2.0 testing in China. However, this OS is yet to reach the global market and there’s no confirmation when it’ll actually make its way to the consumers.
Huawei HarmonyOS Upgrade Plan: Devices and Rollout Time [List]
The story of HarmonyOS smartphone testing began on December 16, 2020. At this date, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 2.0 Developer beta testing for a number of old flagships. Initially, HarmonyOS become available in the testing range of Huawei developers and industry partners. The HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing slots for models from Huawei P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro series devices.
Post recruitment, Huawei selected and processed the developer beta applications and sent the first HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta OTA update to select testers.
Since beta testing is a staged process, Huawei conducted and released several betas builds to developers. After three months of internal beta flight, in April, the company expanded HarmonyOS beta testing for more devices such as Mate 40 series, Mate X2, and others, labeled under HarmonyOS 2.0 developer open beta.
In the following month, mid-range smartphones – Huawei Nova 6, Nova 7, and Nova 8 lineups also joined the second phase beta activity in the second round of the Developer Open beta.
After 6 months of trials and developer testing, Huawei finally made up its mind of sending HarmonyOS on the consumer version of smartphones and it began on June 2.
On June 2, Huawei officially launched HarmonyOS for smartphone devices, a brand new operating system and a successor of EMUI software system, which was based on Android.
HarmonyOS is surely interesting, isn’t it? But the key interesting thing is, which devices will get HarmonyOS software update and when will it start to rollout? Well, Huawei has shared its official roadmap of upgrading old devices with its operating system and it’s detailed below.
This rollout plan has blown my mind as it covers devices that go up to the year 2016, and it’s absolutely insane and beyond my words. This is surely exciting news for the Huawei consumers and it reflects that Huawei wants to change all of the Huawei devices (launched in the past) on HarmonyOS.

Huawei Nova 9 is receiving HarmonyOS 2.0.1 software update
Huawei Nova 9 series is receiving a new software update that comes with a number of new HarmonyOS features because it’s a direct upgrade over HarmonyOS 2.0.1. After the launch, the phone is marketed with HarmonyOS 2.0.1 version but remained under HarmonyOS 2.0.0.
Launched on September 23, the Nova 9 lineup represents a powerful camera system and beautiful design. Both of these combine a fresh and better smartphone that rivals all. On the other hand, the phone doesn’t come with 5G connectivity.
The HarmonyOS 2.0.1 update for the Huawei Nova 9 series comes with version 188.8.131.52 and adds interesting features including “short video”. This new feature allows you to shoot short videos with different types of camera enhancement as well as optimization for existing camera modes.
There’s also a new home screen theme added to the phones that consist of always-on display, lock screen animations, home screen style, all connecting together. Furthermore, you’ll find that the audio is now optimized to provide a better calling experience.
That’s not it, the HarmonyOS 2.0.1 for Huawei Nova 9 comes with display optimizations that enhance the overall viewing quality. The changelog doesn’t end there, there are improvements for horizontal and vertical display rotation in some game-playing situations. Worrying about the system stability? Don’t because this update enhances the entire smartphone.
This phone series was expected to come with HarmonyOS 2.1 but the company didn’t mention this rollout during the launch event nor it was listed online. Thereafter, the Chinese tech giant is sending the HarmonyOS 2.0.1 for the eligible model.
Huawei Nova 9 series:
Huawei Nova 9 series consist of two models – Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro. The Nova 9 Pro consist of two front cameras, 50 MP RYYV super sensing quad cameras, it’s also the first model to equip 100W super-fast charging and a new color design that shines in every light.
The Nova 9 series has a 75-degree arc-like overflow display and 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling for fast touch interactions.
