Following the launch on June 2, HarmonyOS 2 rollout first began with the public beta recruitment of the Huawei Mate 40 series. This flagship lineup is one of the first among other devices to get access to this new operating system.

According to the previous information, the first public beta software update comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 version and brings a whole new OS including a refreshing user interface (UI) and features.

The first HarmonyOS update for Mate 40 devices installs features consisting of a new home screen, control panel, service center, HarmonyOS font, smoother sharing, smart home connection, better security, and more to provide a next-level user experience.

Now, Huawei is releasing a new HarmonyOS 2 public beta update for Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Mate 40 RS smartphones with the latest HarmonyOS 2 version, (C00E120R6P2) with an update package size of 716MB.

According to the changelog, it brings optimizations for sound, display, internet stability, contact app, system, and more to enhance the overall system performance.


  • Sound effect: Optimizes the sound experience of some games
  • Contact App: Fix the problem that some features of the Contacts app are not working accurately
  • Connectivity: Optimizes the stability of WLAN connection and internet surfing experience
  • Display: Fix the issues of lock screen wallpaper
  • System: Optimizes the power consumption system to extend battery life
