On June 2, along with HarmonyOS 2 launch, Huawei also announced 18 devices that are to get their hands on the public beta versions. Even without participating in closed beta activity.

Huawei’s latest annual flagship, the Mate 40 series has been an eligible smartphone lineup of Huawei’s operating system, HarmonyOS 2.0 since the developer beta testing phase.

As a first-round player, the Huawei Mate 40 series has top gear software support from its maker and it keeps receiving new features and optimization via new OTA updates.

Under the public beta campaign, the Huawei Mate 40 series is testing the latest features of the HarmonyOS operating system including a new home screen, control panel, service center, HarmonyOS font, smoother sharing, smart home connection, better security, and other important additions to provide a new user experience.

Yet the Mate 40 phones will continue to receive new software builds with improvements and optimizations. In the latest edition, Huawei has rolled out a new software patch for the selected participated models.

According to the changelog, the patch only weighs around 25MB and consists of optimizations for important aspects such as gaming and application processing to further enhance the performance while operating apps and games.
