Recently, Huawei has started to roll out a new HarmonyOS 2.0 beta update for the top devices of the company including Huawei Mate 40, P40, Mate 30, and more. These smartphones have got the front seat in the HM OS beta program to experience the new features.

With the unveiling of the HarmomyOS 2.0 operating system, Huawei has announced the HarmonyOS 2.0 public beta for these devices in China. For more information, currently, all the HarmonyOS software update rollout remains exclusive for Chinese variants and will soon expand in the global market.

After public beta testing, on June 23, Huawei has finally announced the first HarmonyOS 2.0 stable update for 18 devices including Huawei Mate 40, P40, Mate 30, and more. Now, these devices users can upgrade their devices to new HM OS without participating in the beta program.

Huawei devices and their new version:

Huawei Mate 40 series smartphones users getting HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.136 upgraded from 2.0.0.128. On the other hand, Huawei Mate 30 and P40 smartphones users grabbing new HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.136 from 2.0.0.127.

Note: Currently, this HarmonyOS 2.0 update is rolling out to Huawei developers, who have registered in HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing earlier. Afterward, this update will be expanded to users of the above-mentioned devices.

Last month, Huawei began a stable HarmonyOS 2.0 rollout for all of the Mate 40 series devices in China. This flagship series participated along with 18 devices that installed the stable HM OS 2 update for the first phase.

Now, the company is expanding the stable HarmonyOS 2.0 for eligible devices limited to the Chinese market. All of the models of Mate 40 smartphones inside mainland China running EMUI 11 can directly upgrade over HM OS.

Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro Plus, Mate 40 RS, and Mate 40E smartphone users currently working with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.160 (SP1)/175/177/180 can upgrade over HarmnyOS 20 version 2.0.0.138.

HarmonyOS 2.0 changelog:

Home-screen: Swiping up on the app icon generates a service widget, which can be resized dragged to a new location, or added to your custom home screen.

Control Panel: Swiping down from the upper-right edge of the screen takes you to Control Panel. Device Control access has been added to the shortcut switches panel so that you can control all of your devices with the same ease as navigating on your phone.

Service Center: If you swipe up from the lower left or lower right corner on the screen, the system will lead to the Service Center. This is the place, where all of your collected service widgets are stored and ready to offer access to your desired services.

Smart Folder: HarmonyOS adds support for app categorization and management. By pressing down on a standard folder displays a large folder, which offers direct access to desired apps.

HarmoynOS Fonts: HarmonyOS brings support for step-free font Weight adjustments and adjusts the size of the font itself.

Smart Home: Offers nimble, intelligent operations on household appliances, such as quickly accessing the phone’s network from the devices, controlling screenless devices, installation-free apps, and direct service access, which can be accessed by tapping your phone against the selected household appliance, or bringing your phone into the proximity to the appliance.

Huawei Mate 40 Series HM OS updates [Tracker]

Last October, Huawei launched its annual flagship series, Huawei Mate 40 with advanced hardware and software technology including a powerful Kirin 9000 processor, EMUI 11 operating system, 90Hz screen refresh rate, and more.

The Huawei Mate 40 series comes in four variants:

  • Huawei Mate 40
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro+
  • Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Design
  • Huawei Mate 40E

Among these models, Huawei Mate 40 standard variant is equipped with Kirin 9000E processor, 50MP triple rear camera, 13MP selfie camera, 4200mAh battery, and more.

On June 2, Huawei has officially presented the HarmonyOS 2.0 for smartphones among the consumers. Simultaneously, the company started rolling out the first HarmonyOS 2.0 public beta update for 18 devices.
