First HarmonyOS 2 Stable update announced, 18 smartphones including Huawei P40, Mate 40 and more

Today, Huawei has announced the first-ever HarmonyOS 2.0 stable update rollout for 18 devices. Simultaneously, the company also began HarmonyOS 2 closed beta recruitment for top Honor devices.

HarmonyOS 2 was officially announced on June 2 and Huawei initiated the installation of this new OS in smartphones through testing programs.

In the first phase of public beta recruitment, the top Huawei flagship got the front seat to experience the latest feature ahead of the full release.

According to the information, HarmonyOS 2 operating system comes with new changes in the user interface including the new interactive home screen with resizable widgets. The new features of the HarmonyOS also deliver the all-in-one control panel, service center, super device, and much more that will increase the software’s user experience.

From now on, all of the smartphones listed below are eligible to directly upgrade over HarmonyOS 2 without participating in the beta activities. Yet, we’re here to inform you that the current rollout remains exclusive for the Chinese models of these smartphones.

The listed devices can now directly download the HarmonyOS 2 through the OTA update and from the software update section of the devices.

Global HarmonyOS 2.0 rollout?

Currently, Huawei has not announced any date for the rollout of the HarmonyOS but with the stable rollout, we can only expect the company to soon expand the presence of this major operating system in the global models.
