Huawei stays on second place in the global smartwatch market for Q1, launching new HarmonyOS smartwatch: Counterpoint Report

Recently, the research firm Counterpoint publishes the global smartwatch shipment report for Q1 in 2021. It shows that the year-on-year (YoY) growth has been reached 35% in the smartwatch market across the globe.

Despite all the challenges and difficulties, Huawei manages to stay in second place, although the market shares have fallen by 1.7% in comparison with the last year’s share in the same quarter.

Needless to say, Huawei’s yet-to-be-launched smartwatch series based on the HarmonyOS ecosystem soon be on the wrist of consumers. The unveiling date is June 2nd. It’ll be more interesting to see that after the launch, will this firm able to take the lead back or not.

Returning back to the global report, the US-based firm Apple has to dominate the market with the 50% of YoY and acquiring one-third of the total market in terms of shipment volume.

Earlier, Huawei Watch GT 2 acquires most of the wearable market share becoming the actual source of growth in the last quarter of 2020. Meanwhile, Huawei shipped 6.7161 million units and leading the Chinese wearable Market. (Read Here)
