Huawei P40 February 2022 update

Huawei P40 series smartphone has started receiving a HarmonyOS firmware update that improves system security by installing February 2022 security patch. As it fixes different levels of exploits and issues to defend the device against threats.

As per the information, the February 2022 update for the Huawei P40 lineup is released with the HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.223. However, the required base version to update over this HarmonyOS build is 2.0.0.222.

A few weeks ago, the Chinese tech maker has seeded the latest EMUI 12 software in global models of the Huawei P40 series to provide a new user experience similar to HarmonyOS. February 2022 EMUI security patch detail:

The February 2022 HarmonyOS security patch brings fixes for 2 CVEs in the system and 40 of CVEs in third-party libraries. However, there are no CVEs found in the framework and application section.

How to update:

Go to phone’s settings, tap on system & updates followed by software updates, and tap on check for updates. Let the phone collect the latest update for you, press the download and install button. Wait for the process to compete automatically and reboot the device.

Alternatively, open the My Huawei app on your device and make sure that the app is running on the latest version for a better user experience. Now, visit the update section and follow on-screen instructions.
