Huawei is rolling out the latest February 2022 HarmonyOS security improvements for its eligible devices. In the latest development, the February 2022 update is reaching Huawei Mate 40E 4G users to enhance the overall security and stability of the device.

With February 2022 update rollout, Huawei is updating the Mate 40E smartphone with HarmonyOS version  2.0.0.223. To install the latest firmware, the above-mentioned device users need their smartphone running on the 2.0.0.222 HM OS version.

Besides the security enhancement, there are no notable changes mentioned by the company in the changelog. But, we could expect that the user will experience some general bug fixes after updating their devices.

Just recently, Huawei has just released another model in Mate 40E family – Huawei Mate 40E Pro 5G equipped with Kirin 9000L processor and HarmonyOS 2.0. This phone is available at a price of 6700 yuan. Read more

Software Update steps:

Through Settings:

Go to phone’s settings, tap on system & updates followed by software updates, and tap on check for updates. Let the phone collect the latest update for you, press the download and install button. Wait for the process to compete automatically and reboot the device.

Through My Huawei:

Open My Huawei app on your device and make sure that the app is running on the latest version for a better user experience. Now, visit the update section and follow on-screen instructions.

Things to know:

Before you proceed with the new update, we have some points that you should know. We suggest you take back your personal data. Although the data won’t be erased it is good to take a copy.

Further, maintain enough storage and battery on the smartphone as well as use a strong data connection for fast and buffer-free download.
